Problem/Question about "Relations" Goal on "Graduate" Difficulty

ziggypower — Sun, 20 Mar 2022 04:07:54 +0000

I'm close to unlocking all of the goals in Graduate mode except for "Relations". I have "correct" relations with over 60 creators but it hasn't checked off.

Does "creators" only include actors? I thought it meant all the people you can cast such as operators, composers, directors, etc. If "creators" is actually restricted to only actors then I might have to start over unfortunately...

Thanks and I'm loving the game. Time flies watching shows or movies and playing this.

Problem with high resolutions and scaling of windows

tomiga — Tue, 20 Apr 2021 17:45:27 +0000

It looks that in Edition 2021 you can face problem with wrongly scaling of Window (especially the one where you select the game mode).

It is related to High Resolution monitors and system scaling (when font are set to value > 100%)

There is simple workaround to fix it. It is necessary in system setting for the application to change DPI scaling behaviour. How to do it

1. Right click on the icon which you click to run Movie Business and select Properties

2. Then go to tab 'Compatibility'

3. Check the box "Override high DPI scaling behaviour Scaling Performed by:

4. Change default Value "Application" -> "System (Enhanced)

Run now the game with clicking on this icon.

Game should looks as intended by Author.

You can use also this tutorial (with screenshots)

In case of any problems (if this workaround not works) please contact me directly.

This is example of wrong scaling

and this how the app should looks like (after aplying this instruction)

What to do if browser blocks your download of Movie Business

tomiga — Sun, 26 Apr 2020 09:07:38 +0000

Movie Business is free, non commercial project. That is the reason that game is not signed digitally. Such certificate cost some money which needs to be payed annually. For free, hobby project it is significant cost.

Unfortunately application which do not have digital signature is treated by Windows 10 as suspicious application. It may cause some unfriendly drawbacks.

One of them is by default blocking of download of such application. So what you can do if you have such problem (during the file download the process is interrupted with specific message).

Please note that I have Polish version of Windows so names of options can be a bit different in English one

1. Go to the Windows Defender settings (type Window Defender in search).

2. Choose Control of applications and browsers

3. In Check applications and files change Block to Warn

4. If you use Microsoft Edge make same changes to section SmartScreen for Microsoft Edge

This should solve the problem of blocking of download. Still you will get some warnings.

Creator Contracts

dwkish — Wed, 19 Dec 2018 21:39:02 +0000

I have two incidents when the game crashes:

1. While in making a movie someone complains the actor isn't very good so you have the option to switch someone you have a contract with. When I try to switch the game crashes.

2. When you try to renew a contract with a creator. The game won't allow you even though it gives the option. You select Yes and the game crashes.

Hope this helps and such a fun game!
